Match-Day Strategy
In a tournament you can change your tactics between matches. Each game is played with the formation and lineup you have saved shortly before its kickoff, so you can prepare a different plan for every opponent.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Every tournament match has a strategy lock a fixed number of minutes before kickoff (30 by default). The formation and lineup you have saved at that moment are the ones your team uses for that match.
- Edits you save before a match locks count for that match.
- Edits you save after it locks roll over to your next match.
- If you change nothing, the match simply uses your current tactics at lock time.
Upcoming Games
Section titled “Upcoming Games”The Upcoming page lists every scheduled match you still have to play:
- Tournament, round plus opponent (shown as TBD while a knockout slot is still being decided)
- Kickoff date and time
- A live countdown to the strategy lock for that match
Use it to see how long you still have to set your plan for each game. A countdown turns orange in the final hour before a lock. Once your lineup is captured the card counts down to kickoff instead.

Select any game’s formation to open the full squad behind it. For an upcoming game this is the eleven plus seven you have ready right now. For one already played it is the exact squad that played it, as captured when that game locked. After a game finishes you can also watch it back or open its match statistics from the same row.
The Tactics reminder
Section titled “The Tactics reminder”The Tactics page shows a banner for your next match with the same lock countdown, so you are reminded to save your best eleven before time runs out.

Squad rule
Section titled “Squad rule”Your squad must be complete and fully owned at lock time: eleven starters plus seven substitutes, all still in your wallet. If your squad is short for any reason (for example you sold a player without replacing it) that match is forfeited 3-0. You return to normal play as soon as you complete your squad again. This is the same rule you meet when joining a tournament.
Which player stats are used
Section titled “Which player stats are used”The match uses each player’s on-chain synced attributes as they stand at lock time, so training you sync before a match counts for it. Player condition is read live at the same moment. Training or syncing done after a match has locked applies to your following games.
